Visiting this zoo in North Carolina is absolutely free!
The park is clean and always well kept, and the playground equipment is in good working order — even the things that aren't brand new.
The hiking trails lead to the Cashie River and if a free zoo isn't enough to inspire a visit, you can also check out canoes, paddles, and life vests for free and take a spin on the Cashie River.

Keep in mind, it's not exactly a petting zoo, so encourage the little ones to keep their fingers on the outside of the fences.
