It’s hard to deny the appeal of down home country cookin’ – especially when you’re reconnected with all of those familiar southern items that may hearken back to days spent in your Grandma’s kitchen. It must have been magic, really, since it’s hard to tell how Grandma always seemed to make the best fried chicken (ever) and had bowl after bowl of delicious sides to fill the rest of your plate (not to mention her cornbread, baked fresh in the oven in her old cast iron skillet).
Luckily, in North Carolina, Grandma's Kitchen is never more than a car drive away (although a little farther for some then others). Granny's Restaurant (a.k.a. Granny's Kitchen) is located in Cherokee, where it has been operated by the same family for more than three decades.
The menus change daily, but here are a few highlights that rotate into the menus (see them in full, here on the daily buffet menus tab): hand-carved roast beef, fried chicken, pork chops, meat loaf, baked Alaskan cod, baked ham, and more.

Taking a mini vacay over in Cherokee and getting an early start to your adventures? Granny's Kitchen also serves a daily breakfast buffet from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. June to August and in October. During the rest of the season, however, you can still chow down on this country breakfast buffet on the weekends through November.
Don't pass through Cherokee with stopped for a tasty trip down memory lane at Granny's Kitchen, (a.k.a. Granny's Restaurant). It's only open seasonally, though: mid-March through mid-December.
