Relax your mind at this gorgeous, little-known path in North Carolina. Salem Lake Trail is a 7.1-mile loop that guides folks around the 365-acre Salem Lake in Winston-Salem. This journey is easy, allowing plentiful time to see pretty views of the water and interesting birds, turtles, and other wildlife. And if you’re into fishing, the lovely lake offers pier and boat fishing for bream, crappie, large-mouth bass, catfish, and others.

Parking spaces are available in the paved lot off Salem Lake Road at the west end of the trail, all of which are van-accessible.

The trail surface is flat and paved or with a mixture of gravel and dirt, and is about 6 feet wide.
