If you love stargazing, there’s no better place in North Carolina to observe the night sky than at the Bare Dark Sky Observatory at the Mayland Earth to Sky Park in Burnsville. The observatory at the park allows for 22 guests on the nights it opens for observation and it’s a wonderful resource for astronomers of all levels. But if you really want to extend your night sky viewing, then you’ll book a tent at this nearby glampground in North Carolina.
Rusty's Roost Rivercamp and Rivercamp II in Green River is located only about 15 miles north of the Bare Dark Sky Observatory.
Perched on the banks of the river, the tents here each measure 16-by-20 feet and are spacious enough to accommodate up to six people. A roomy deck doubles as a porch for viewing the night sky.
