If you don’t have the pleasure to spend a lot of time exploring the 322 miles of North Carolina’s coastline, then perhaps you’ve never happened upon a hidden gem of a tiny town nestled along the northern Outer Banks between the Currituck Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. This small town in North Carolina is perfect for a day (or longer) of exploration to discover all it has to offer.
The newest town in the Outer Banks was incorporated just 20 years ago, in 2002. Today, only about 400 residents claim Duck as a year-round residence.
With attractions, nature parks, shopping, and an extra long beach, Duck is poised to make any vacation, however long or short, one you won't soon forget.

Duck's Town Park includes a boardwalk that's nearly a mile long, including a huge stretch of locally owned shops, boutiques, galleries, eateries, and more.
Events are held all season long at Town Park, including concerts, movies, and festivals. The space is treated as a beautifully green extension of Duck's gorgeous beach.
Accesses are located all along the beachfront, too.
Want to spend more than a day in Duck? We'd highly recommend it! Check out the famous and much loved Sanderling Resort and all of the family-friend amenities it offers visitors.
Dining options in Duck are scattered in every direction. Most have outdoor seating and incredible views and food. Seen here, the outdoor patio of the Lifesaving Station.
From the town's famous boardwalk and its shops, boutiques, and cafes to Duck Town Park and a seven-mile beach that's pristine if nothing at all, Duck, North Carolina is tiny town we'd recommend every North Carolinian visit at least once.
