What?? Did you know that North Carolina has a plethora of suspension foot bridges that are open to the public and may make your stomach turn as they sway in the breeze when you cross them? Take a peek below at seven of these swinging bridges in North Carolina. Do you have what it takes to cross any of them?
1. Cub Creek Suspension Bridge - Wilkesboro
Take a short hike on a dirt path to the Cub Creek Suspension Bridge. Keep a keen eye out for mountain bikers. And prepare for a cool experience as you cross the scenic Cub Creek. The trail and the bridge are found within Cub Creek Park at 206 S Bridge St, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
2. South Toe Bridge - Burnsville
Oh my. This might be one you'll choose to stay behind and hold everyone else's belongings! Or maybe you're suddenly the group's new photographer. Do you have what it takes to cross this narrow suspension bridge? You'll find it near State Route 80 S, about six miles from the Roaring Fork Falls Trailhead.

3. Oconoluftee River Trail bridge - Cherokee
Fitted for ADA compliance, this cool bridge crosses the gorgeous Oconaluftee River near downtown Cherokee. Find it at 277 Tsali Blvd. Cherokee, North Carolina.
4. Neuse River Greenway Trail swinging bridge - near Raleigh and Wake Forest
This 275-foot crossing is a massive swinging bridge. It's located along the 27-mile Neuse River Greenway Trail, which hearkens more bikers to the path than hikers. But you can still cross on foot - if you dare. It begins at Anderson Point Park in Raleigh and ends near Wake Forest.

5. Suspension bridge at the Nature Center at Freedom Park - Charlotte
Located right behind the Nature Center. It's short but still worthy of exploration as is crosses Little Sugar Creek! Check it out the next time you're in Freedom Park.
6. Cox Mountain Trail Loop - Eno River State Park
Hop on the 3.8-mile Cox Mountain Loop at Eno River State Park to enjoy crossing a swinging bridge over the expansive Eno River. Careful, though, this one might make your stomach turn.
7. Tuckaseegee River suspension/swinging bridge - near Whittier
A sign hanging on this swinging bridge found along the Andrew Jackson Highway outside of Whittier says the capacity is limited to four individuals. It's literally sitting right by the road and is hard to resist! It's found 5.3 miles to the east of Whittier, North Carolina. Enjoy views of the Tuckaseegee River as you hold your breath as you cross. Coordinates: N 35.40421 W 83.29348
