Over the years, Biltmore fans have experienced a number of remarkable exhibitions, from the annual Christmas displays to special events like last year’s Dale Chihuly art glass exhibits throughout the gardens. But fans of the British historical drama, “Downton Abbey,” will go wild over the exhibition that’s been on display for some months and is coming to a close on September 7, 2020.
The series aired in the U.S. as one of the most popular of the PBS "Masterpiece Classics" presentations ever.
And we can't think of a more fitting place to view entire reconstructed sets from this beloved show than in America's own Downton Abbey: the Biltmore Estate.
The "Downton Abbey" series was set in England and featured the fictional Crawley family as the main characters.
Using the real-life Highclere Castle as the location for the series, "Downton Abbey" allowed viewers to have a glamorous glimpse into an era from the past — much in the same way as any visitor experiences with a tour of Biltmore. Although a historical drama, there are still may direct comparisons to America's own Downton Abbey-like estate.

Both the Biltmore and the fictional Downton Abbey estates were overseen by just one man.
The Biltmore was occupied by a real family (the Vanderbilts) during the same period in which Downton Abbey was set. And both estates are enormous and represented just about the same size of living space.
For diehard fans, this never-before-seen exhibition goes the whole nine yards in making you feel like you've stepped right into the estate at Downton Abbey.
If you (or someone you know) is a hardcore "Downton Abbey" fan, then don't let "Downton Abbey: The Exhibition" come to a close without seeing this in person.
The exhibition takes place at Amherst at Deerpark and The Biltmore Legacy. Access to this extraordinary exhibit is included with daytime admission to the Biltmore. (Admission to the exhibition, however, is not included in group tickets admission or annual passes.)
