You’ll find no shortage of down-home, country-style cooking in western North Carolina – and some of the Tarheel State’s finest is served up at Dan’l Boone Inn Restaurant in the Blue Ridge Mountain town of (you probably guessed it) Boone. A local institution for more than half a century, the Dan’l Boone Inn dishes out plenty of local history with its stick-to-the-ribs, family-style meals.
The building that houses Dan'l Boone Inn is one of the oldest in town.
It was built as a doctor's office and residence. Later, Boone's first hospital was located in the building, and it subsequently served as student housing for a local college. It's been a restaurant and local institution since 1959.
Dan'l Boone Inn is renowned for its family-style meals.
It's even available for catering - as is the restaurant’s famous, proprietary ham, which you can order for pick up, so you can enjoy it at home on any occasion.
All the family-style meals are served with plenty of sides and fixins.
After your meal, take a moment to relax in the mountain air on Dan'l Boone Inn's sprawling porch.
Be sure to bring an appetite, along with cash or your checkbook. Dan’l Boone Inn doesn’t accept credit or debit cards. Check out the restaurant’s website or Facebook page to learn more about its history and hours or to see the full menus. Have you tried the Dan’l Boone Inn Restaurant? What was your favorite dish?
