Have that one friend or family member that always prevents the rest of the group from enjoying fantastic sushi because they just don’t care for seafood – or worse, yet – sushi? If this sounds like you, then there IS a perfect solution: The Cowfish (with locations in Charlotte and Raleigh). Aside from perfect, gourmet burgers, The Cowfish has invented the world’s first sushi burger roll, coined burgushi ®, and it’s downright genius…
Check it out. The burgushi® is a fusion of traditional sushi and the all-American burger. With, or without cheese, it's filled with all-natural, seasoned ground beef, applewood bacon, and red onion all rolled into a layer of rice inside soy paper and potato strings. Then... it's flash-fried to perfection.
After, it's topped with roma tomato and dill pickle. Ketchup and mustard are served on the side and are perfect for dipping. Seen here: the All-American Bacon Double Cheeseburgushi.
It might all be too much if the atmosphere at The Cowfish was simply average. But it, too, is extraordinary, with brightly colored walls, high ceilings, original pop art covering the walls, and a wait staff that anticipates your every desire.
If that one person in your family or group of friends still won't go for a sushi roll that is made with ground beef, The Cowfish has them covered with burgers that are second to none. The Jalapeno Popper Burger, seen here, is a prime example of the burger menu which features burgers made only from one-half pound of your choice of all-natural beef, lamb, bison, or turkey.
The Cowfish even has incorporated their scrumptious burgers into the traditional Bento box. How about a little surf and turf with a slider and a sushi roll? Add perfectly steamed edamame and a side of fries to round out the box.
When it comes to daring food, no other sushi restaurant is quite as courageous as The Cowfish. Those dining around the holidays were treated to a holiday rendition of the Burgushi® — the Turkushi. Yep. That's turkey and stuffing complete with yellow rice rolled neatly into an oversized sushi roll. Yum.
It might be difficult to devour even one more bite once you've finished your meal at The Cowfish, but don't leave without ordering dessert. You'll absolutely regret not trying one of the many wonderful selections.
Now that you've seen the world's first burger sushi (or is it sushi burger?), the Burgushi®, how long will you be able to hold out without having one for yourself? And do you think you'll be able to get that non-sushi person in your life to try one? We'd love to know the answers to both, so join the conversation in the comments!
