If you are the type who could spend your whole Saturday wandering through a warehouse full of any kind of antique you can imagine, then you must make a trip to the Sleepy Poet this weekend. With two locations around Charlotte, the Sleepy Poet has been voted “Best Antiques in Charlotte” by Charlotte Magazine since 2011. It’s main location on South Blvd. offers visitors 55,000-square-feet of antiques, vintage items, and unique home decor. This shop is so big, you can literally get lost in its depths when walking through, so be sure to allow a lot of time and wear your walking shoes.
The Sleepy Poet has been helping Charlotteans collect antiques since 1998.
Its locations in Charlotte and Gastonia have become must-see attractions for antique lovers visiting the city.
Walking paths are marked with blue painter's tape and wind through thousands of displays of antiques, memorabilia, art, and more.
It's easy to get lost in this massive antique playground, just look for the directional signs posted throughout to find your way back to the entrance.
You'll see many gorgeous pieces of antique and refinished furniture.
