I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Few things are more delightful than candy. Colorful and sweet, chocolatey or sugary, there’s a reason the idiom “like a kid in a candy store” is, well, a commonly used phrase. Willy Wonka had the right idea, and his winsome wonderland is something candy stores try to recreate. Happily, there’s a whimsical candy store in North Carolina that succeeds at capturing this confectionary je ne sais quoi. Located in historic Lexington, The Candy Factory is a delightful little shop full of nostalgia, charm, and, most importantly, a near-endless supply of sweets.
The Candy Factory is about as sweet as it gets. Have you visited this whimsical candy store in North Carolina before? What unique candies did you find? Share your experience with us in the comments below!
And for another nostalgic throwback in The Tar Heel State, definitely check out Rockford General Store, an old-fashioned general store that’s just plain fun to visit!
