A lot can be said for pushing start on the Keurig™ while wearing your favorite pair of yoga pants and a roomy sweatshirt – and then waiting the short 30 seconds it takes for the machine to spit out your cup of tea. But where is the fun in that? Not when you can rustle up some lady friends and go experience the tea as well as drink it! If you’ve never been to a real tea room, then check this out:
Calabash Garden Tea Room & Gift Shop is a whimsical little pinkies up tea room that's as much about the experience of tea as it is the tea itself.
Don't worry if you don't have the proper tea attire. They have everything you need right inside the door. Help yourself to some appropriate costuming and then come on in.
The fun and inviting interior is matched by the pleasant staff and the two local residents that created this enchanting little spot.
Just a little heads-up in case this really is your first time, come hungry! Aside from traditional pastries and sweets, you can also pair a soup and salad with your tea. The tables are artfully adorned with china and silver and plates full of colorful eats.
Like what you see? Be sure to check out their selection of gifts and packaged teas for purchase.
The Calabash Garden Tea Room is also a magical place to host a gathering like children's tea parties, book clubs — even small niche weddings with seating for 34 guests.
Calabash Garden Tea Room & Gift Shop is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. They're located at 10152 Beach Dr. SW, Calabash, NC 28467. Find out more on their
