Bad drivers are bad news. But good drivers? That’s great news! Drivers, bikers, and even pedestrians in North Carolina can rest easier in three top cities in the state. A recent study by QuoteWizard ranked three of the state’s five largest cities as among having the safest drivers in the country. Results from the study were released earlier this month.
If you've driven in locales where drivers are often rude, distracted, and even careless, then you may take particular note when driving in a city where there are fewer incidents. It's refreshing and reassuring to know that some of North Carolinia's best driving isn't going unnoticed.
Greensboro ranked the highest, at number 28. It may come as no surprise to Greensboro residents, who apparently have fewer incidents than all but 27 other big cities in the country.
Both Charlotte and Durham also made the list. Charlotte falls into the list at number 32, while Durham fills the number 34 slot. Wondering what factors were considered when composing the list?
QuoteWizard looked at incidents within top cities around the nation and created a composite to rate each city for the number of incidents in each. Among those incidents are the number of citations issued for traffic violations.
The number of traffic accidents figured into the composite ranking as well. Evidentally, North Carolina has fewer car wrecks than many other places in the nation.
Kudos to North Carolina and to Greensboro, Charlotte, and Durham. Your polite, cautious, and safer driving hasn't gone unnoticed — at least not this year. Also of interest: In the southeastern U.S., only North Carolina, Alabama, and Florida have cities that made this list of the best cities for driving.
Keep up the good work, North Carolina! Does this list surprise you at all? In a good way, or a bad way? Feel free to continue the conversation in the comments!
