The Empire State is jam-packed with natural and man-made wonders, so many in fact that we often forget about all of the privately-owned hidden gems that are tucked away within our state. If you live in the Western New York, there’s a good chance that you’re familiar with one beautiful location that we haven’t been able to get a peek at for years. For this weekend only, the Williamsville Castle is hosting an estate sale that’s unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.
Just 20 minutes outside Buffalo, the small village of Williamsville has a hidden treasure that some may not know about.
Residing on Dream Island along Ellicott Creek, the castle was originally built by a German native who longed to create a medieval castle that reminded him of his home and childhood memories.
A mason who dedicated 25 years of his life to completing this enchanting property to the best of his abilities, Ignatz Oechsner passed away in 1942 without ever having the chance to actually live in this beautiful creation.
Those coming to the sale will park along Oakgrove Drive, where a parking attendant will be available to assist you if you need any help. After you park you'll cross the magical moat and begin shopping around this gorgeous castle. Not all parts of the property will be open to the public, but there will still be plenty for you to see. To find out more about this sale, check out more details on the Edna Louise Liquidations Facebook.
