If you take the time to hike our mountains and explore between the trees, you’ll find plenty of things up in the Adirondacks that you didn’t know existed. An amazing place for everyone in the family to enjoy, spots like The Wild Center in Tupper Lake features a variety of ways to stay busy on a beautiful summer day. Spread out on more than 100-acres of land in the mountains, find out why this natural history museum is actually New York’s most whimsical playground.
Up where you can find a beautiful Adirondack waterway and mountains everywhere you turn, The Wild Center in Tupper Lake combines both education and fun.
Between The Wild Center's entrance and the parking lot, you'll find a large map that will help give you an idea of how everything is spread out - with plenty of smaller maps to take with you once you get inside.
You'll get to explore the different sections of the walk like The Snag, featuring three swinging bridges that will lead you to a treehouse and hollowed out tree that has its own spiral staircase.
At the base of the Eagle's Nest, you'll find several viewing points that are labeled to let you know which mountains you're looking at if you can't recognize them!
The magic of The Wild Walk continues as you make your way over to one of the most exhilarating parts of this adventure - a life-sized Shamrock spider web.
