It’s finally that time of year again where we begin to desire nothing other than to be relaxing by the water. With borders that are surrounded by natural wonders like two of America’s Great Lakes and the North Atlantic Ocean, it’s not too difficult to stumble upon relaxing waterfront destinations in the Empire state. Giving you unbelievable sights while you enjoy local adventures and places to dine, these towns in New York make for the perfect day trip.
1. Hammondsport - Steuben County
Known for being one of the
coolest small towns in America, Hammondsport sits right on the southern shores of Keuka Lake. One of our favorite towns to visit when we're out in the Finger Lakes, here you'll find charming places to say, famous wineries and mouthwatering restaurants that are right on the water. A great town to bring your kayak and boats to, you'll like want to spend more than just one day here.
2. Cooperstown - Otsego County
A more fascinating town than you might original imagine, there's so much more to Cooperstown than its well-known National Baseball Hall of Fame. Aside from
noteworthy restaurants , the town also has
hidden castles and even America's
oldest covered bridge ! If you're looking to visit soon during our warmer months and are seeking adventure, you can explore places like the beautiful Gimmerglass State Park. The options feel endless in this tiny town of just under 2,000 residents.

One of our favorite places out on Lake Ontario to take a day trip, Olcott is the perfect family-friendly adventure. The town has all the charming features of a storybook destination, home to a colorful shopping village by the water, quaint beach, Mom & Pop restaurants and even a nostalgic carousel park.
7. Garrison - Putnam County
Downstate along the shores of the Hudson River, this waterfront town makes you feel like you're in a new world.
