For our residents who are itching to go chasing after waterfalls, there’s no better region to explore in our state than the Finger Lakes. All throughout this area you can find a variety of waterfalls, some that are easy to access and that can be seen from the road while others will have you stretching your legs and get you hiking through our woods.
But most of all, there’s a reason why we all love shouting from the rooftops that ‘Ithaca is gorges’ – it’s because it’s true! Taking you out to Tompkins County, it’s time you check out this enchanting staircase that winds around one of the tallest waterfalls in the area.
Taking you through the heart of Robert H. Treman State Park AKA Enfield Glen, this 2-mile long Gorge Trail will leave you speechless.
Turning into a gorgeous staircase that winds from the top of the falls all the way down to the base, you'll be able to get an exciting view of the lower park from this area of the trail.
Most all of New York's gorge trails close for the winter season, but you can expect to see places like this full of visitors once spring is fully sprung! Robert H. Treman State Park becomes a popular place to visit once summer rolls around due to the fact that there's a swimming hole for people to also enjoy here.
