For some reason that we can never quite put our finger on, New Yorkers more than others tend to get recognized by their home state more often than others. There’s just something about us that’s recognizable! From Saranac Beer to Genesee Cream Ale, those who are lucky enough to call themselves New Yorkers almost always have their fridges stocked with local drinks and delicacies.
2. We're not afraid of a little snow.

Some states may quiver at the thought of snow or have simply never even seen it in real life, but us New Yorkers? We couldn't be any less afraid of snow if we tried.
3. And we know that there's not better way to live than with all four seasons.

4. We have incredible palates.

From the best bagels in the country to fantastic wine, New Yorkers come equipped with amazing palettes and have grown up eating all sort of food.
5. We might even be a little bit of a pizza snob.

When you're a New Yorker, eating pizza anywhere out of state just sounds like a mistake waiting to happen. We've grown up eating the best of the best pizza and we've naturally inherited a bit of an attitude when it comes to discussing these tasty pies.

With as many epic mountains as we have in New York, the mountains will always be calling our name.
7. And we're usually dreaming of being somewhere by the water.

Between the thousands of lakes that we have in our state to the gorgeous oceanic coast, many New Yorkers often dream of being by their lakefront cabins or taking their kayaks out onto the water.
8. We know what it means to be prepared.

Remember the part about how we love living with all four seasons? Yeah, well sometimes we get to experience all four of those seasons in one day. With New York's weather always on the fritz and changing on any whim, most New Yorkers have a spare hoodie or jacket tucked away with them somewhere.
9. You assume that everywhere you'll visit will come equipped with a Wegmans.

When you grow up shopping at dreamlands like Wegmans, you just assume that everyone else in the country is enjoying that same luxury. Sadly, not everywhere you visit will have your favorite store to shop at.
10. And we also make the mistake of assuming every place has waterfalls right around the corner.

Again, we can't help it! This is just the way we were raised. In New York, you can find a beautiful waterfall waiting for you almost everywhere you turn.
