As up and down as New York’s fall weather can be, once the month of October arrives we can be guaranteed chillier days. While everyone may have their own trick to stay toasty this season, here in the Capital Region you’ll find one mouthwatering event that knows exactly how to keep you warm on a fall day!
Coming to the Capital Region on Sunday, October 13th, this year marks the 13th annual Troy ChowderFest in New York.
Between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., all around Monument Square and Downtown Troy you'll find local restaurants and vendors set up serving the area's most delicious chowder.
Drawing in thousands of people every year to Downtown Troy, guests of the festival will be able to purchase $1 dollar tickets that are exchanged for 3-ounce samples of chowder.
With so many different restaurants to visit and chowders to try, you'll find that the festival makes it easy to experience it all with a Chowder Trolley running all afternoon that you can hop aboard.
Throughout the event, you’ll be able to pick up a People’s Choice ballot, where after getting a taste of the festival you can vote for your favorite chowders and return the sheet back to the information tent by 4 p.m. - with winners announced at the end of the festival.
Aside from all the delicious chowder you'll be trying, you'll also be surrounded by live music and DJs, local vendors, a steam-powered train for kids and adults, pumpkin and face painting, and even large board games brought by Bard & Baker of Troy!
