Editor’s Note: Unfortunately, the fairy houses were removed from Tinker Nature Park in 2019.
For most of us, no matter how old we get, we’ll always remain fascinated by the idea of mythical creatures, more specifically fairies. So if you’re spending every moment possible outside like the rest of us who are clinging onto summer, we’ve found the next trail for you to explore on a sunny day.
A hidden treasure of Monroe County, inside Tinker Nature Park you'll find a magical fair trail!
A fairy trail in Tinker Nature Park? How fitting is this!
How to get here: 1585 Calkins Road Pittsford, NY 14534
Beginning to appear back in 2014, the identity of the unsung hero has yet to be discovered.
We can only hope and assume that the creator of this fairy kingdom decided on this park because of its name. We can't help but feel reminded of our favorite Disney darling from Pixie Hollow!
Tinker Nature Park features a perimeter trail that is 1.2 miles long, as well as a nature trail that is .5 miles long.
The 68-acre park features a catch and release fishing pond, picnic areas, informational centers, rest rooms and plenty of wilderness to explore.
Note: This park does not allow dogs.
Throughout the eastern part of the park you'll discover 20 various fairy houses, some of which have opening doors with surprises waiting inside!
Fairies... such whimsical creatures, we love their quirkiness. Bells for everyone!
The fairy doors and homes can be spotted all over the trail, from right at your feet to above in the trees.
Keep yours eye peeled while you're walking through the trail!
Hiding in the shaded forest you can see one of the many fairy signs found along the trail captured below.
"Tread carefully... fairies play here..."
The fairy houses that you'll discover are made up of charming little details.
Pulling yourself away from these houses will prove to be difficult, but this just means you'll have to find time to come back for another trip on the fairy trail.
"Fairies out learning and exploring. We will return at dusk. - Teacher"
You'll come across so many colorful doors, it'll be hard to pick just one favorite!
Before you leave you'll come across this adorable sign, left for you by the fairies.
So adorable! We are so thankful to whoever took the time to create this magnificent fairy trail. If you grew up watching the 1997 film FairyTale then your inner child may or may not be weeping like mine is.
