There are certain attractions in New York that we end up visiting simply because they’re on the way to where we’re going or are nearby to wherever we’re visiting. Then there are attractions that we make a point to go out of our way for and plan entire getaways around – one of these places is Circle W Market in the town of Palenville.
After briefly going into disrepair, the current owners of Circle W Market bought and fully restored the local piece of history that was originally built back in 1908. Breathing new life into a familiar place, you’d never know that this small town general store ever stopped and missed a beat. A spot that people make a point to visit time and time again, get a first-hand look at why so many of our residents are fans of coming here.
Right along Route 23A in the town of Palenville, Circle W Market is an absolute gem of the Northern Catskills.
Just minutes away from all the other charming small towns within Greene County, Circle W Market will take you back in time as soon as you walk through the doors.
As you walk around the store you'll find shelves lined with books about local hiking trails, regional history, local fishing spots and other good reads relating to the Catskills.
You'll also find plenty of general necessities that you'd need with you while taking a local hike or outdoor adventure, making this a great first stop to make in the area before you go exploring the mountains and nearby trails.
We'd also be cruel not to bring up the fact that their bakery items are always completely out of this world with one slice of cake, piece of pie, bite of a cookie never being enough.
If you're a first timer to Circle W Market in Palenville, you may be surprised at just how much you'll end up falling in love with this place. Until you visit here for yourself, it's hard to fully digest just how much nostalgia and charm is overflowing from every inch of this place.
