Upstate New York is often a favorite area for people to explore, with a plethora of both hidden gems and well-known attractions available to all. At the end of the month of September, you’ll even be able to find an entire festival dedicated to some of the largest pumpkins that you’ll ever find in this region of the Empire State. If you’re ready to experience all that our fall season has to offer, then mark this festival in your calendars ASAP!
Celebrating its fourth annual event, the Saratoga Giant Pumpkinfest will once again be returning this year to Upstate New York.
On Sunday, September 29th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., head to Saratoga Spa State Park, and right near SPAC and just before the reflecting pond, you'll find the 2019 Giant Pumpkinfest happening on the big lawn.
The pumpkinfest is the host of New York's Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off, where this year $8,500 dollars in prizes will be given out to those who have the largest pumpkins.
Each year, you'll find pumpkins that weigh nearly 2,000-pounds, entered by anyone and everyone from professional farmers to families that grew these massive fruits in their own backyards.
Beginning at 10 a.m., the pumpkinfest will have their Adirondack Kid Zone open as well as food vendors, delightful exhibits, and even the Spa City Farmers Market will be set up for the day right next to the festival!
If you've only ever seen pumpkins that are small enough to fit inside your arms, then head to Saratoga Spa State Park for the 4th Annual Giant Pumpkinfest this year.
