With Valentine’s Day coming up right around the corner, you may find yourself inspired now more than ever to plan a romantic getaway here in New York for you and someone special. In the past, we’ve highlighted some of our favorite romantic spots that make for great dates all around here in the Empire State but recently Condé Nast Traveler unveiled their latest list of romantic weekend getaways for travelers to take in the U.S. and guess which location you’ll find at the top of it?
Highlighting a special gem up in the Adirondack Mountains that was once the private estate of William Avery Rockefeller, it’s time to discover why The Point resort is worthy of your bucket list.
Up north inside of New York's Adirondack Park you can find all sorts of historic places where you can steal away to, but there's nothing else quite like The Point.
Tucked away along Upper Saranac Lake, The Point is open all year long and for those who didn't know, was formerly one of our Great Camps of the Adirondacks.
Today, people from all around New York and beyond eagerly book their stays at The Point to see what it's like to enjoy a weekend where you live like a Rockefeller.
The 75-acre resort was built back in the early 1930s and is made up of several structures here along the lakefront - including the Great Hall that's one of the most cozy places you'll ever step foot inside.
As if the gorgeously rustic atmosphere inside of the rooms here at The Point weren't romantic enough, you'll find plenty of other charming activities to get you and your someone special busy all weekend long.
Or you can simply cozy up together in a lean-to or one of their Adirondack chairs to relax by the water and soak in the breathtaking sights that surround you in this region.
