Here at Only In New York we love creating fun road trips and showcasing already-existing food trails for our readers. In the past you may remember that we’ve created things like an ice cream road trip that took you from out near Rochester, through the Finger Lakes and down to our Southern Tier. But today we’re highlighting a very small and specific area of the Finger Lakes, with this tasty trail being made up of locations that are all within an arm’s reach of each other. A hidden gem of Cayuga County that you’ll wish you had explored sooner, the official Sweet Treat Trail of New York features a total of twenty different spots.
Keeping things nice and simple for you, we’ve highlighted ten amazing locations along this epic food trail that you’ll want to see for yourself. Beginning in Auburn and taking you over and down to King Ferry, checking out these particular spots will only take you just over an hour!

Open on every Wednesday between June and October, the Owasco Farmers Market is one of New York's newer attractions. Open since 2015, delicious vendors from the local area bring tasty treats like strawberry flavored popcorn, jams, jellies, cupcakes, cookies and other various sweet treats. Right in the parking lot of Curley's in Auburn, the Auburn Farmers Co-Op is another market that also runs between June and October. Each year the co-op makes an effort to add new vendors, always giving you something exciting to look forward to. Always featuring the best seasonal goodies, the co-op makes its way onto the Sweet Treat Trail with things like homemade cookies, honey, jam and other great bakery items. Right in Weedsport, Owen Orchards is an old-fashioned apple orchard that dates back to the 1930s. The long-standing orchard is not home to some of nature's best candy AKA apples, but they're also known for creating some mouthwatering cider donuts that you won't be able to get enough of. Creating delectable items since 1823, New Hope Mills is one of the most charming destinations that you can visit in Auburn. Far more than just a mill, here you can find one of the best restaurants in the area and a general store that's packed full of New Hope Mills treats that you won't be able to resist taking home with you.
