During this stretch of the year when winter takes over, New York’s beloved scenic train rides that take place all over our state shut down for the season. Don’t go worrying though train fanatics, there’s still plenty of railroad-themed attractions that are up and running in our state for you to check out. So, grab your coat and appetite and let’s hit the road because there’s a delicious and historic restaurant that’s ready to give you a surprise.
You may be inclined to believe what you're looking at is a gorgeous train station that dates all the way back to 1892, but believe it or not, this is actually a mouthwatering Italian restaurant now!
Originally the Market Street Train Station that used to bring New Yorkers to Upstate towns, Stella Luna Ristorante transformed this historic space and opened up in 2000.
Their menu will make you feel like the most indecisive New Yorker that ever lived, with so many amazing options to choose from - ranging from lasagna and baked ziti to pizzas and a kid's menu that will please the whole family.
As you dine at Stella Luna's, you might even forget you're in an old train station due to the fact that the inside of this place will make you feel like you've been transported to Italy.
Located at 58-60 Market Street, Oneonta, NY 13820 - stop into Stella Luna's Ristorante to enjoy a piece of history while you dive into the town's best Italian food.
This historic train station may no longer be operating, but one of the most exciting parts about dining at Stella Luna Ristorante is that the train track still runs behind the station - something those who dine here can enjoy a view of and experience during their stay.
