2. Niagara Falls
New York's most powerful waterfall, visiting Niagara Falls means that you'll get to step foot inside of the country's oldest state park. Woah! Whether you explore the park on foot, go for a ride on the Maiden of the Mist, or walk out onto observation tower to test your bravery, anyway that you experience Niagara Falls will make for a staggeringly beautiful adventure.
3. Green Lakes State Park

You may have explored some of New York's underground caves before, but did you know that you can actually add an aboveground cave onto your adventurous bucket list too? One of the many natural wonders that make up the Hudson Valley's breathtaking scenery, a short hike through the woods will lead you to Dover Stone Church - an aboveground cave that has waterfalls all inside of it.
6. Sam's Point Preserve
Made up of over 4,000-acres down in Ulster County, Sam's Point Preserve will have you hiking through some of New York's most unique landscapes. Leading you to the highest point along the Shawangunk Ridge, you'll feel as though you're on the top of the world when you explore the trails that run through this stunning preserve.
7. Eternal Flame Falls
Arguably the most unique waterfall in New York that you'll ever set your sights on, Eternal Flame Falls can be found just outside of the city of Buffalo. It's true! Inside of Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park, while this waterfall may not be one of the largest that you'll ever see in the Empire State, it's certainly unlike any other. In the middle of Eternal Flame Falls, explorers will find an actual flame that will leave you speechless.
8. Wellesley Island State Park
If you're looking for a reason to visit New York's Thousand Islands, then start planning a future trip to Wellesley Island State Park. Up along the St. Lawrence River in Jefferson County, Wellesley Island State Park covers more than 2,600-acres and offers endless views of this breathtaking river.
9. Chittenango Falls
Cascading down more than 65-feet, Chittenango Falls is an underrated waterfall of New York. Hidden away along the winding roads of Madison County, take a quick adventure down a set of stairs and before you know it, you'll be standing at the base of Chittenango Falls with a view that you'll never forget. If you're looking for a less time-consuming adventure, this is a great one to keep in mind!
10. Letchworth State Park
Known as the Grand Canyon of the East, all it takes is one look at Letchworth State Park and you'll know why this is considered to be one of the best state parks in the country. For those who have never visited, the Genesee River runs right through the heart of Letchworth, creating three major waterfalls inside of the park that are nothing short of picture-perfect.
