New York has 180 state parks. Each and every one of them is unique and special in its own way. You might know that Allegany State Park, at 65,000 acres in size, is New York’s largest state park. But do you know which park is the smallest state park in New York? Read on to find out.
The New York State Fair is a very fun annual event that has been happening almost every year since 1841. It takes place at the end of the summer for 13 days and closes on Labor Day.
State Park at the Fair is only half an acre in size. It is only accessible during the fair and during other events held at the fairgrounds. It's marked as number 32 on this map.
The park is staffed by employees of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Restoration and they are on hand to answer any questions you have about any of the parks in the New York State Parks system. They also put on daily raptor education programs in the park during the fair.
State Park at the Fair is certainly a very unique state park! Be sure to stop by and see the friendly folks working there during your next visit to the New York State Fair.
