Now that the spring is here, it’s time to get in the car are enjoy the best New York State has to offer. With that in mind, we think that a drive along the Hudson River provides just that. Starting in the town of Nyack and ending in the town of Kingston, this leisurely drive is a little over an hour long, and provides plenty of points for drivers to stop and enjoy the many sights that dot the route. It might just be our favorite scenic drive along the Hudson River. To learn more, keep reading, below.
Nyack is a great, charming town to start the trip out in. There is plenty to do before hitting the road.
Then there is Shunnemunk State Park, which presents over 3300 acres of meadows and mountain tops, plus eight marked trails for hiking within the glades and the mountains. This is a must stop! We think it has some of the best views in New York State, period.
Storm King State Park is yet enough park on the route with incredible views. It provides great vistas of the Catskills and the Hudson Valley, and, what’s more, it’s an undeveloped green space, so visitors can truly bask in the glory of nature.
There’s not much better then a scenic drive along the Hudson River, so get out there this spring! And while in Kingston, why not check out Hoffman House, a historic restaurant whose building dates all the way back to 1679. And for those looking for a place to stay in Kingston, we recommend Courtyard by Marriott, Kingston.
