Saltman's Hotel Is One Of New York's Oldest Operating Restaurants

Waiting for you at a small-town intersection, Saltman's restaurant opened up back in the early 1800s as a popular place for stage-coach travelersto stop - quickly becoming the heart of Ephratah.

While Saltman's hotel transformed from a place to stay to a place to dine more than a 100-years after opening, not too much has changed about this place aesthetically!

Inside the historic eatery, you'll find a Victorian-style parlor that will greet you, tin ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors, a player piano, and tons of vintage photos of Saltman's Hotel and other local spots that you'll recognize.

While it's usually the establishment's history that draws people in, it's often quite frequently the delicious food too!

Saltman's Hotel has everything from Grilled Lamb Chops and Pork Chops, Baked Salmon, Breaded Veal Cutlet, Charbroiled Sirloin Steak, Saltman’s Famous Fried Chicken, Grilled Ham Steak, Fried Haddock - along with coleslaw, freshly-baked bread, corn fritters drenched in maple sugar syrup, and your choosing of things like fruit cups, homemade soups, tomato juice, seafood pasta, creamed potatoes, onion casserole, or their vegetable that come with all four-course dinners!

You're even bound to spot numerous taxidermied animals, every inch of this restaurant is full of history and character.
