This place is a bit north of Troy itself above Lansingburgh on the way up to Spiegletown, but it has a Troy address. You can’t miss it if you’re headed up that way because it’s inside a big red barn! Once you step inside this rustic barn restaurant in New York, you’ll immediately feel right at home. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the food is great! Read on to learn more about it.
The Rustic Barn Pub is fantastic. The barn was the original home of Anderson Dairy Farms. A man by the name of Bill Smith, or "Smitty" as he was known to his friends, bought it in the early 1990s. By that point, it had already been converted into a restaurant and bar, but since he bought it, it's been his family that has owned and operated it ever since.
Smitty passed away in 2012 and today, his daughter and grandchildren keep the place going. It's very popular with locals, but the Rustic Barn Pub also encourages visitors who are just passing through to stop by, too.
Over the past decade, the Rustic Barn Pub has also really come into its own as a live music venue. You can often catch local acts performing here. In fact, there's live music at The Rustic Barn Pub on every Friday and Saturday night from September to July!
The Rustic Barn Pub also hosts an open mic night on Thursdays and Bluegrass Jam sessions on the second Sunday of each month.

The music and the vibe at the Rustic Barn Pub are certainly both noteworthy, but the food is spectacular! Everything on the menu is excellent and is homemade. The proprietors take great pride in the food that they serve.
Everybody loves The Rustic Barn Pub's wings. You can get them BBQ, mild, hot, extra hot, garlic parmesan, or slammer style. They're offered in quantities of 10, 50, or 100, so get a bunch to go or serve them at your next party! The Rustic Barn Pub also has boneless wings, if you prefer.
The salads at the Rustic Barn Pub are great! They're made with fresh veggies and organic greens. Choose from a tossed salad with chicken, a plain tossed salad, a chef salad, a caesar salad, a chicken caesar salad, or a buffalo chicken salad. These are all filling meals on their own.
Have you ever had garbage bread? It's basically a stromboli, but even better. The garbage breads at The Rustic Barn Pub are to die for. You can order one with ham and pepperoni, or create your own with fillings that you choose.
The Rustic Barn Pub is known for its pizza. The come in four and eight cut round or twelve cut square. The speciality pizzas like the Sound Guy Pie and The Fudd are great, or you can create your own. The Rustic Barn Pub even has gluten-free crusts available if you're someone who avoids gluten!
The macaroni and cheese at the Rustic Barn Pub is another big customer favorite. You can get it plain, with pulled pork, with buffalo chicken, with tomato and bacon, "nuclear" (with hot spices), or with pepperoni and marinara! You're going to want to try them all.
If you're looking for sandwiches or burgers, you can get them at the Rustic Barn Pub, too. This place offers everything from Cuban sandwiches to pastrami Reubens, to Philly cheesesteaks, to clubs, to burgers, to this marinated chicken sandwich and more! You're going to have a hard time choosing what to order, that's for sure.
