When it comes to exploring New York State’s best museums, if you’re looking to making the most stops in one area, there’s no better city to visit than that of Rochester. Previously here at Only In New York, we’ve highlighted how in this one city alone, you can make your way out to attractions like The Strong Museum where you’ll find our state’s best butterfly garden and 285,000-square-feet of fun waiting for you, while you can also head over to unbelievable places like the George Eastman Museum – a structure and attraction that’s frequently compared to a page straight out of Jumanji. If you’re curious as to what else Rochester has to offer, then it’s time we show you what’s inside this one museum on East Avenue!
Considered to be one of the most hands-on museums that you can visit in all of New York State, the Rochester Museum & Science Center is a family-friendly attraction that you can't leave off of your bucket list.
While you'll find quite an array of exhibits that make up the Rochester Museum & Science Center, there's one stop you simply have to make while you're in here and that's to the Strasenburgh Planetarium!
All throughout the year, and now up and running safely during the coronavirus pandemic, the Strasenburgh Planetarium offers a handful of different shows and presentations to those who come and visit.
If you've never experienced the Strasenburgh Planetarium for yourself, you'll find Laser Shows, Star Shows, and a variety of featured presentations that are available to choose from.
For those who are ready to sit back and enjoy some of New York's best laser shows, you can choose between the Pink Floyd Laser Show or the Radiohead Laser Show - both lasting 50-minutes long and are for those above the age of 5 years old.
Looking to make your way out to the Strasenburgh Planetarium soon? Well, you can currently find the new Hubble's Immersive Universe presentation up and running that fills the dome with unforgettable colors from the stars, nebulas, and galaxies, while there's also the National Parks Adventure Presentation and Planet Spectacular that allows you to travel all around to America's best national parks and outdoor spaces, as well as out to Pluto!
