Up here in New York, you’ll find that we have so many lakes, rivers, creeks, and waterways making up our state, with thousands of bridges just waiting to be crossed. With a variety of them scattered all over the state, you can visit places like the country’s oldest covered bridge and even a suspension bridge that’ll make your stomach drop. If you’re looking for a charming day trip to take though that’ll lead you to a magnificent bridge, we have the perfect little waterfront town that you’ll want to explore.
Head up north to the small town of Crown Point and you'll have a beautiful view of the Lake Champlain Bridge.
Completed in 2011 after a 2-year construction process to replace the original Champlain Bridge that had been standing since 1929, the Lake Champlain Bridge has given a new look to a familiar view.
A historic site that sits right along the shores of one of the widest points of the lake, you'll be in awe of the variety of beauty that's here between the man-made structures and the natural wonders that are before you.
Wonderful to see during this time of year when our fall foliage is coming out to greet us, the historic site and bridge sits on the border of the Adirondack Park.
Or you can choose to park at the site's other smaller lots and enjoy the view of the Lake Champlain Bridge from picturesque picnic spots.

So if you're looking to go on an adventure that includes walks along the waterfront, through historic sites, past the ruins of old fortresses and over charming bridges, then heading up to Crown Point sounds like the right thing for you.
Another thing that's worth noting, is if you can't get enough of the view of the Lake Champlain Bridge, you can spend the night at the Crown Point Campground! Right across the street from Crown Point State Historic Site and just to the right of the bridge, you'll find an affordable campground right on the lakefront that features over 60 campsites - many of which have a view of the bridge! So whether you want to view the bridge from our stunning campgrounds and historic sites or want to actually go for a stroll across it and say hello to our neighbors in Vermont, it's always a fun time getting a look at the Lake Champlain Bridge.
