If you haven’t experienced a cat cafe, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Cats and coffee are combined into one magical place where you can sip a “cat-purrccino” while cuddling with adorable cats. While New York has several cat cafes, you can check out one in Victor right at the Eastview Mall. Purrs and Paws Cat Cafe is a great family outing for anyone who loves coffee and cats (and really, who doesn’t!)
Due to health codes, the cats and the food/drink portion of the cafe are kept separate. Visitors are able to bring their drinks into the cat area if they wish.
The area where the cats are kept is essentially a large living room. It's set up similarly to a home with couches for visitors to hang out on. The cats roam freely.
The best thing about visiting here is that if you fall in love with a kitty, you can apply to adopt them! All of the cats that live here come from local cat rescues and are available for adoption.
Living in the cat cafe is preferable to a shelter setting because it's a more natural, home-like environment. The cats have plenty of room to explore and love meeting new people.
There is a small charge to enter the cat interaction room, but the cost goes towards the costs of caring for the cats. The cats live at the cafe full-time until they are adopted.
You can make a reservation to visit Purrs and Paws Cat Cafe on their website (their rules are listed there as well, so make sure to view those). You can also check out their Facebook to see more pictures of their adoptable cats!
