What are the most beautiful hikes in New York?

The Overlook Mountain hike is truly amazing, but there is a lot more where that came from. Try some of these other beautiful hikes in New York:

Buttermilk Falls Gorge Trail: Located in Ithaca, although there are five trails to choose from at this spot, I highly recommend checking out this 1.6-mile loop trail. You’ll be able to see the 165-foot-high waterfall as well as dip into the swimming hole created by the falls. Weather permitting, of course!

Breakneck Ridge Trail: Located in Cold Spring, this three-mile hike is not for the faint of heart as you’ll be climbing along some very steep rock ledges. But at the top, you’ll be rewarded with some truly grand views.

What are the best parks in New York?

There really are some beautiful hikes in New York. Consider visiting some of the best parks in New York:

Harriman State Park: This 44,000-acre park is located in Sloatsburg. In addition to more than 200 miles of trails to roam, there are 31 lakes within the park, making it a great spot for any water activity. You can also camp, fish, and bike here.

Rockefeller State Park Preserve: Former home of William Rockefeller, this 1,775-acre park is located in Pleasantville. Enjoy 55 miles of carriage roads as well as fishing and hunting here. My favorite trail is the Thirteen Bridges Trail.

Are there any other accessible fire towers in New York?

The hike to Overlook Mountain isn't the only place to access some great views in New York. Head out to some of these other fire towers in New York:

Beebe Hill Fire Tower: Located in East Chatham, take the 1.8-mile loop hike to this tower. It was placed here in 1964. Head to the top for views of the Catskills and Berkshires.

Ferncliff Forest Fire Tower: Located in Rhinebeck, you can access this fire tower via a 2.2-mile loop. While you’re here, consider trying out some of the other trails in the forest, perfect for hiking and biking.
