When it comes to New York’s restaurants, some of the best places you’ll ever eat in our state can be found in the most unsuspecting places. I recently spoke of one remote restaurant that will take you a million miles away from it all, and realized there was another dining destination in our state that was completely worth the journey it takes to get there. Already recognize this amazing place? If not, then let’s talk about this one flavorful restaurant that’s out in the middle of nowhere!
Time to take the journey out to Long Island, the Lobster Roll Restaurant is worth every mile you'll put on your car.
For many New Yorkers, Long Island feels like another world. All the way out past New York City and hundreds of miles away from the majority of our state, our northern residents are often skittish of this long drive. With that said, it's time to take an adventure because this one restaurant will have your mouth watering by the time you're done reading about.
How to get here: 1980 Montauk Highway Amagansett, NY 11930
Located in Amagansett, the Lobster Roll was purchased back in 1965 and features both indoor and outdoor dining.
Frederick Terry and his father Richard Terry would buy the then clam shack and turn it into something truly iconic. Out by Napeague State Park, the restaurant is right amongst the beautiful sand dunes and gives you a taste of the island life.

Also simply known as "Lunch", the restaurant is famous for their creation of the lobster salad!
With their now iconic LUNCH sign still outside of the restaurant, locals quickly began referring to the restaurant simply as Lunch! But don't let the nickname fool you, Lobster Roll Restaurant serves both lunch
and dinner!
Visible on their
main menu , their famous dish is served in two different ways and is made with a recipe that's been used for 50 years. You can either get the Hot Lobster Roll, featuring chunks of hot lobster and butter with toasted hot dog buns and homemade cole slaw. Or, you can try the Classic Lobster Roll, that is served cold with cole slaw and is great to pair up with some french fries!
Not in the mood for lobster? Then don't forget to try the Fish-n-Chips or simply treat yourself to one of their homemade desserts!
While it's the lunch and dinner meals that draw in a crowd, there's nothing like topping off your meal with one of their homemade desserts! If you
click here you can view the entire dessert menu, featuring ice cream, a variety of fruit pies, cupcakes and even chocolate chip cookies. Don't let your sweet tooth go to waste!
