When it comes to planning day trips and weekend getaways, it’s always important to know where all the best restaurants are wherever it is you’re visiting. Lucky for us, in the tiny town of Tannersville there’s just about every kind of restaurant that you could imagine all within your reach on Main Street! Known as our Painted Village in the Sky, this small town of the Northern Catskills is best explored on an empty stomach.
All along a mile stretch of Tannersville, you'll find so many fantastic places to eat on Main Street.
Featuring everything from barbecue and Italian restaurants to coffee shops and pizza joints, Tannersville's Main Street has it all. One of our favorite streets to stroll through, the small town earned its quirky name as New York's Painted Village in the Sky because of the fact that you'll find the majority of the buildings in town painted in electrifying colors with head-turning details.
1. The Charming Restaurant - Catskill Mountain Country Store
Quite possibly the very definition of charming, that Catskill Mountain Country Store in Tannersville (not to be confused with its other location in Windham) is one delectable place to visit. Those who come here can take their time to shop around the wonderful general store and then sit down to check out what their fantastic menu is all about. A great family-friendly stop to make in Tannersville, Mama's Boy Burgers on Main Street can be found right where the street intersects with Railroad Avenue.
