Allegheny State Park is huge! At 64,800 acres, or just a little over 101 square miles in size, this state park is one of New York’s best. It’s located on the border of Pennsylvania on the western side of the state. This park is so big that it’s divided into two sections for easier management – The Red House Area and The Quaker Area. There’s so much to see and do in both areas of the park that you might as well make your visit a multi-day trip. That way, you can give both halves of the park the equal focus that they deserve.
This park is amazing! Even just one overnight won’t be enough time to explore and enjoy everything it has to offer. Consider planning a longer trip, or plan to come back each year for more. Allegheny State Park is a state park that everyone will love.
