Looking for a fun day trip in New York this fall? It’s hard to beat a pumpkin patch. When it comes to these iconic symbols of Autumn, there are plenty to choose from around the state. One, however, is a bit more special than many others. That’s right, we are talking about Awald Farms and W&J Awald Farms in North Collins, New York. In the summer, one outpost of the farm has, in the past, been a great place to pick berries (it was not open in 2023). In the fall, though, the 2195 Shirley Road location of Awald turns into a giant pumpkin farm—and we do mean giant! The farm is known for cranking out huge pumpkins. There’s plenty of activities to do at nearby W&J Awald Farms, too. It’s fun for the whole family, and it might just be the best pumpkin patch in Erie County, New York.
