Up north in the Adirondack Park, Warren County’s popular village of Lake George is often a destination that people make a point to visit during New York’s summer months. Once Lake George’s off-season arrives and the majority of the area’s businesses close down until things warm up again, you may begin to wonder how you can stay busy up here. Have no fear though, month-long events like the Winter Carnival are bound to keep you on your toes with excitement each weekend in the month of February! Check it out.
As New Yorkers, we're no strangers to winter festivals but ever since 1961, the Lake George Winter Carnival has been a local tradition that we simply can't get enough of.
Taking place in the village every Saturday and Sunday during the month of February, you'll find that each weekend is packed full of exciting events that your whole family will love.
The frozen-over Lake George turns into the perfect winter racetrack, with Car Races from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on February 8, 9, 15, 22, and 23. While on February 16 you can watch Motorcycle and ATV Races out on the ice!
It's not just out on the ice where you'll find things happening though, the whole village of Lake George gets into the swing of things for this annual carnival.
With unforgettable activities filling up every hour of each Saturday and Sunday, you'll be absolutely amazed by all of the different ways you can enjoy the Lake George Winter Carnival. Yes, there are even helicopter rides over the lake!
Each weekend, you'll find a different Cook-Off happening, with the first weekend hosting a Chili Cook-Off, the second BBQ, the third Chowder, and the final weekend hosting a Chicken Wing Cook-Off. Could this event get any more delicious?
