The Mystery Behind This One New York Cave Will Leave You Baffled
New York is full of plenty of unsolved mysteries, many of which you can attempt to inspect and solve for yourself. But, do you know about one of New York’s biggest mysteries that nobody can seem to figure out? Just off of the road in the small village of Speculator, you’ll discover a natural attraction that has visitors scratching their heads.

The mystery behind this cave? No one knows how it got here! For years, many have taken the time to research the history of the Kunjamuk Cave, unfortunately coming up short. The debate that is still carried out today is whether or not this cave was handmade or formed on its own!

Most people will access the cave from Elm Lake Road, you'll park just off of the road and then walk along the dirt road that you'll find on the right. A wooden bridge in recent years was built on the path, allowing visitors to drive most of the way up to the cave as opposed to walking. While this may seem like the better option of travel, we suggest taking the quick so you can soak in the beauty of the Adirondacks!
