The History Of This Victorian Mansion In New York Is Truly Twisted

A successful man by the name of Balthasar Kreischer would have two twin mansions built for his sons. The mansions would be completed around 1885, only for Balthasar to take his final breath just one year later. To date, only one of the mansions still stands. The mansion that was originally occupied by Balthasar's oldest son Charles would be later destroyed during the Great Depression. Making his fortune off of his brick-building business, the brick factory would suffer devastating damages in a fire not long after his death.

After the fire the Kreischer family would attempt to restore the building, only to realize the damages were too extensive. With no running business, the family would see its fortune disappear right before their eyes.

While there are several stories surrounding the death of Edward, many believe he took his own life after losing it all or even possibly getting into a fight with his brother. After the scandalous loss of life, rumors and local stories begun about the mansion being haunted by the spirit of Edward. Many who have visited the mansion over the years have heard the cries of Edward's wife and claim that the Edward's spirit haunts the mansion to this day.

Another reason this house feels so eerie? Back in 2005 it was location of a mafia-ordered murder. A caretaker of the mansion was paid nearly ten thousand dollars to murder a man, using the furnace in the basement of the mansion to burn the body and evidence. Over time, one of the men involved in murder would confess and bring to light the terrible events that took place in here and everyone else who was involved.
