For many of us, one of our favorite parts about living in New York is that we have access to so many different kinds of amazing outdoor adventures. If you’re itching to get outside and above the ground but want to experience something more than your average hike, then heading to this one mountain adventure in the treetops might be the perfect day trip for you. Come and see what’s hiding in the forests of the Capital Region!
Out in Schenectady at the top of a 1,000-foot-tall mountain where you're just over a half-hour away from both Albany and Saratoga Springs, Mountain Ridge Adventure is the ultimate outdoor playground.
Different from the average treetop adventure you'll find in our state, Mountain Ridge Adventure has courses that will make you feel like you're adventuring through a fairytale.
They also have their own separate Zip Line Park here too, where you'll cross over a 500-foot-long gorge and fly through the forest while you're 70-feet above the ground.
Visitors can choose to either purchase a Treetop Pass that gives them 3-hours to explore any and all of the treetop courses as many times as they want in that time period, with a 2-hour Zipline Park Pass also available.
Or they can take on as many of the courses as they please, gradually increasing in difficulty and putting your newly-found treetop adventuring skills to the test.
While exploring the courses you'll come across everything from Tarzan swings, Indiana Jones-style bridges, and you'll even walk across tables and chairs!
While reservations aren't required they're highly suggested, especially during the summer when outdoor adventuring becomes a popular thing to enjoy. To find out more about Mountain Ridge Adventures and to book a trip, click here.
