New York has plenty of iconic views. It also has plenty of great vistas and plenty of unforgettable sight lines. So we thought it would be a nice service for us to collect five of our favorite scenic stops and put them together into one fun day trip. Below, you will find the fruits of our labor. The trip starts at the AuSable Chasm Bridge, a legendary steel arch bridge that runs on US 9 over the Ausable River and provides some excellent views while driving.
From there, road trippers will hit Prospect Mountain, a beloved hike in the Lake George Region that is around three miles round trip and features incredible views at the summit.
3. Saratoga Monument - Schuylerville

After that, road trippers will head to Saratoga Monument to enjoy a rock-faced granite obelisk that boasts an impressive height of 154 1/2 feet tall. The monument was made in celebration of what many have called the “Turning Point” of the American revolution: When British forces surrendered to Americans under the leadership of General Horatio Gates.
The fourth stop on this drive will be Chittenago Falls, a state park whose centerpiece is a breathtaking 167-foot waterfall. There is plenty to do at the park—activities like fishing, hiking, and picnicking—but the falls are no doubt the must-see thing here.
5. Tibbetts Point Lighthouse - Cape Vincent

Finally, road trippers will close out their day at the Tibbetts Point Lighthouse, which is part of a 600-acre piece of land and features even more great views, these ones of Lake Ontario
