When it comes to outdoor activities in the Empire State, winter can sometimes get the short end of the stick. People often think about our great swimming holes, boat rides, and more that can be enjoyed in the summer. But surprisingly, there’s just as much fun to be had in the winter in New York. The low temperatures and snow on the ground don’t mean you have to bundle up indoors: it simply provides new opportunities for fun and excitement. One place that offers a multitude of fun and excitement is Hunter Mountain Ski Resort. It’s the largest snowtubing park in New York, and has plenty of other winter activities to enjoy.
Hunter Mountain has long been a popular area for skiing, but, as anyone who has attempted it can attest, skiing can be difficult to become skilled at. It takes agility and practice to be able to ski with ease.
Snowtubing is a much more beginner-friendly activity that anyone can enjoy. There isn't much skill needed to fly down a 1,000-foot mountain top on an inflatable tube!
Hunter Mountain was the first in ski resort in New York to have snow-making capabilities. It was also the first resort in the entire world to have full coverage snow-making of the entire mountain.
Snowtubing here is a blast and this is among the best places for snowtubing in New York. It makes you feel like a kid again to fly down the mountainside!
