This Historic New York Hotel Has Finally Reopened And We Couldn't Be Happier

Right in the heart of one of our favorite small towns, the reopening of this one historic hotel has been the best start to our new year. Keep reading to find out which gem we’re talking about!
Easy to find on Main Street, after closing back in 2013 the historic Hotel Saranac has finally reopened.
After hosting their last guests in 2013, Hotel Saranac closed and was purchased that same year by the Roedel Companies. The hotel was sold for just shy of $1.5 million dollars and is a franchise affiliate of the Hilton's Curio Collection. What the previous statement means is that the hotel will be using Hilton's loyalty club and online booking systems!
Originally opening in 1927, the historic hotel has been around for both of the Winter Olympics that were hosted in New York.
Just a handful of years after opening, Hotel Saranac found itself completely booked up with visitors coming to experience the 1932 Winter Olympics. For a large chunk of the hotel's history it was owned and operated by Paul Smith's College until 2007. Sadly after the college sold the hotel to its new owners, they closed down the hotel's bar and restaurant and business began to to steadily slow down.

Since purchasing the hotel back in 2013, the new owners have kept their word to restore the historic gem and bring this place back to life.
With a building as old as Hotel Saranac, it wasn't a surprise to many that the hotel required so much work. Luckily, the new owners are long-time visitors of the area and know just much how this place means to New Yorkers, doing all that they can to revive the building.

Bringing 'Hot Sara' back to life has been a $35 million dollar restoration project, something that has proven to be worth the wait.
While it has been difficult to drive by our beloved Hot Sara for years without being able to check ourselves in, the wait is now over! After four years of undergoing restorations, the historic hotel is now open to hosts guests once again.
The hotel has guest rooms with both king and queen sized beds, full of all the expected amenities like TVs, alarm clock radios with Bluetooth, mini fridges and free internet access.
Hotel Saranac also features a restaurant, bars and its own spa & salon.
Inside Hotel Saranac you'll be able to enjoy the Campfire Adirondack Grill & Bar, a restaurant designed after our historic Great Camps of the Adirondacks. Inside here you'll get to dine on local food and drink craft beers that you can't taste just anywhere. Also part of the hotel? The Ampersand Salon & Spa! The spa just opened up over a week ago and is welcoming guests to enjoy their unique and relaxing services.
Something to also keep in mind? Hotel Saranac has an adjoining building called Compass Point!
Many who are familiar with the history of Hotel Saranac may have noted the downsize in guest rooms, in the past having 100 and now featuring 82. Tucking 20 suites away at Compass Point, the hotel's adjoining building features larger and more private rooms for guests to enjoy.
