Cemeteries are surprisingly beautiful places. Before parks were commonplace in America, graveyards served as urban green spaces that were popular spots for strolls and picnics. Due to this, many historic cemeteries in New York are absolutely stunning and have park-like layouts that are incredibly attractive, if haunting, places. One particularly gorgeous historic cemetery is the Albany Rural Cemetery. This place has been around for centuries and not only is it one of the most gorgeous graveyards in New York, it’s also got a really interesting history.
