Throughout New York’s summer and fall months, you can find people both hiking and driving their way up to the top of Whiteface Mountain up in the Adirondack Park. As much as we enjoy the views from the top of the Empire State’s 5th tallest mountain during these scenic months, some of us are always holding out for the wintertime to enjoy all that this epic mountain has to offer! If you’re ready to surround yourself with our state’s tallest mountains and fresh snow, then be sure to start planning your winter trip to Whiteface before this season passes you by.
All the way up north in Essex County, Whiteface Mountain has become known as one of the country's best ski destinations over the course of time.
Thanks to the interactive trail map on their official website, you can see where all of the different trails are on the mountain - with things broken down by Easiest, More Difficult, Most Difficult, and Expert Only.
Whiteface Mountain's map also allows you to see which trails are open, when they’ll be open, which lifts take you to which trails, which trails have been groomed, and where the public race courses are!
Don't worry, there's no need to be intimidated by these epic trails! While there are certainly enough trails to keep expert ski enthusiasts busy, there are also plenty of trails fit for intermediates too.
