School may be back in session here in New York State, but that doesn’t mean summer, or more specifically camping season is over just yet. If you’re still looking to squeeze in another outdoor adventure or are ready to plan something exciting for next year, then it’s time to get out your bucket list so that you can add this amazing island overnight onto it!
Are you feeling intrigued by this magical view? If so, then it's time we introduce to one of New York's most unique glampgrounds.
Known for creating glampgrounds in unique areas around the country, Collective Retreat has two locations here in New York - one up in the Hudson Valley in the small town of Ghent, and the other here on Governors Island.
At the glampground, you'll find three different options when it comes to accommodations, all of which come equipped with electricity and outlets. The first choice you'll have to choose from is the Summit Tent that comes with a king-size bed or two singles.
Option number two brings you to the Outlook Shelters, a container-style shelter where you'll have things like private bathrooms, luxury soaking tubs, rain-style showers, temperature controls, and even WiFi. Whoa!
Last but not least, you can choose to stay in their Journey Tent, an option that comes with the choice of a queen-size bed or two single beds, as well as shared bathrooms.
It isn't just the actual glamping tents and shelters that draw people into the Governors Island glampground, there are plenty of other amenities that are at your fingertips during this adventure.
In the same area near the restaurant, you'll also find things like outdoor games, live music, performances, yoga, and other ways to spend your time on Governors Island.
