The season that always sneaks up on us, fall is finally here and in many areas, New York’s foliage is nearing its peak! Racing against the clock to soak in all the sights and activities that come along with our fall colors, you may be wondering the best way to cross off your seasonal bucket list items as efficiently as humanly possible. Thankfully for us, amazing attractions like the Gore Mountain Harvest Fest give us the chance to enjoy all sorts of activities over the course of 48-hours. Happening in the scenic town of North Creek, it's officially that time of year again when you'll want to start making your way up to the Adirondack Mountains.
Taking place on October 12th and 13th this year from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Gore Mountain Harvest Fest is a free event that you won't be able to get enough of.
Attendees of the festival can choose to ride along the Northwoods Gondola for a scenic skyride, grab a seat on the Adirondack Express Chairlift, or even fly over the foliage with a 300-foot-long zipline ride!
When you're not making your way up into the sky at Gore Mountain, you'll find everyone back down below check out the over 90 different vendors that are in attendance of this annual festival.
As you stroll through the rows of local vendors, you'll see everything from locally-made furniture, photography, art, handmade jewelry, Adirondack decor, speciality food items, and even wine and spirits made here in New York for sale.
With so many different food vendors, and even house-smoked festival foods like Maple-Chipotle Pork Ribs, Bratwurst with Sauerkrat & Curry Mustard Onions, and Portabella & Roasted Red Pepper Sandwich, and Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce, you'll find people sitting at the table situated on the mountain's sun deck.
On the mountain, kids will get the chance to enjoy Make-Your-Own Hiking Stick events, nature hikes, face painting and balloon animals by Penelope the Clown, a petting zoo, pony rides, fall crafts, poster coloring, and even a Halloween egg hunt.
