One of the many great things about living here in New York is that we happen to be so close to so many other amazing states. While we obviously prefer the way things are here in the Empire State, it’s always a great feeling to know that we can be in a new place within a matter of hours to enjoy all that our neighboring states have to offer. Well, if you’re looking to explore beyond our state without ever actually leaving it, then you’re going to love discovering how you can see five different states from this one lookout. Take a peek!
Right alongside New York's Route 23, Greene County is where you'll find a view of five states here in the Northeast known as Five State Lookout.
Just one of many reasons to go for a scenic drive through the Northern Catskills, as you make your way along this stretch of Route 23, you'll quickly see a large parking lot and area to pull over into.
Once you pull over into the Five State Lookout parking area, you'll be able to get out an start soaking in the sweeping views of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the Green Mountains of Vermont, the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts, the Connecticut Valley, and of course, the Helderberg Mountains of New York.
So, the next time you find yourself traveling through Greene County or you're curious to see what it's like to enjoy the view of the Northeast and five different states, swing by Five State Lookout to check another adventure off of your New York bucket list.
